Vasileios Barbounis is from 01-09-2013 a Director of the third Oncology Clinic at «Metropolitan" Hospital. He was from 2009 to 2013 a Director of Chemotherapy unit at General Hospital of Athens Ippokrateio and a Director of the second Clinical Oncology department at Cancer Hospital of Athens "Saint Savas" from 1990 to 2009. Vasileios Barbounis was a Consultant of the Department of Oncology at Antikarkiniko Hospital Piraeus "Metaxas Memorial” and an Internist of the Department of Oncology at Antikarkiniko Hospital Piraeus "Metaxas Memorial” from 1985 to 2000. From 1981 to 1982, he was a Consultant of the Pathology Clinic at the County General Hospital of Kalamata. Dr. Barbounis, graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 1986 (medical degree “very good”). His training was in Athens Naval Hospital at the department of internal medicine and in Saint Panteleimon General Hospital of Piraeus, at the department of internal medicine.

He conducted a research in monoclonal antibodies against human malignant tumors at Hammersmith-Royal Postgraduate School of medicine and in St Bartholomew’s Hospital London, ICRF Unit, 1987-1988 lymphomas, and bone marrow transplantation.

His Medical Thesis was about the prognostic value of copper, fibrinogen, sedimentation rate and a2 globulins in Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Other positions that Vasileios Barmounis held were as a President of the Greek College of Senology. He was an Ex-General secretary in the Greek society of Mastology and an Ex-Director of training courses in Mastology. He was also an Editor of FORUM OF CLINICAL ONCOLOGY, the Greek society of clinical Oncologists magazine.

According to his Scientific work, he is an Editor of ten books in Oncology, an Author of 14 chapters in oncology books. He has 40 publications in peer review journals, he has given 400 lectures at conferences. Ηe enlightened the public about cancer prevention and he has organized a numerous of oncological conferences.

Panos Kanavos Panos Kanavos (BSc, MSc (Oxon), MSc (LSE), PhD) is Associate Professor in International Health Policy in the Department of Social Policy, London School of Economics (LSE), Deputy Director at LSE Health, and Programme Director of the Medical Technology Research Group (MTRG) at LSE Health.
Annalisa Trama Dr. Annalisa Trama graduated cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome "La Sapienza"(1993-1999). She obtained her Master’s in health services/system research from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2001-2002), she specialized in Public Health from University “La Sapienza”– Rome (1999-2003). She obtained her PhD in Public Health from University “La Sapienza”– Rome (2004-2006).
