Odysseas Zoras is Professor in Surgical Oncology, University of Crete, Medical School and Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology, University Hospital of Heraklion. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). Past President of the Hellenic Society of Surgical Oncology (HSSO) and Past Dean of the Medical School, University of Crete, Greece.

Professor Zoras graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Medical School “Con Lode” in 1980. He then specialized in General Surgery (University of Athens, Greece, 1988) and in Oncology (University of Rome “La Sapienza”,1992). He obtained his Doctoral thesis (PhD) from the University of Athens in 1988 with honors. In 1990 had full registration in the General Medical Council, UK.

He made post-graduate studies in Milan Cancer Institute (1 year), Beatson Institute Glasgow University (1 year) and Glasgow University Royal Infirmary and University of Rochester, Medical Center, New York. (Visiting Professor subatical semester – 6 months). Since 1992 he is a member of the WHO Melanoma Programme and since 1996 active member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) (member of the International Committee and the Outreach Committee). Since 2002 is a full member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Professor Zoras was a Vice President of the International Society of Cryosurgery (field of interest: liver cryoablation, breast cancer, bone metastases) (2005-2011) and Vice President of the Hellenic Society of Surgical Oncology (2007-2008). Since 2009 he was President of the Hellenic Society of Surgical Oncology – in 2011 reelected as President of the Hellenic Society of Surgical Oncology. He was Chairman of the Department of Surgery of Medical School, University of Crete 2005-2006 and member of the Educational and Training Committee (ETC) of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). He was examiner of the European Board of Surgical Oncology (2012, 2013, 2014). His teaching activities relate to Surgical Pathology, Surgical Oncology and Molecular and Cellular Oncology.

Professor Zoras is the author or co/author in more than 100 publications in cited scientific journals and contributed author in one American textbook of Surgical anatomy. He is the editor of one textbook entitled “Regional Oncotherapies”, Co-author in the European Textbook “Surgical Oncology”, Editors G. Poston and R. Audisio, Co-author in the textbook “Surgery for pelvic malignancies”, Edition Broken Hill, member of the editorial board of the “Annals of Surgical Oncology” Journal, section “Bone and soft tissue sarcomas” up to October 2012.

Professor Zoras has been invited speaker in more than 300 national and international congresses. He was Vice Dean of Medical School in the University of Crete Greece (2003-2007) and Dean of Medical School in the University of Crete Greece (2007-2011).

His main clinical activities are in melanoma, soft tissue sarcoma (accreditated for the use of TNF-alpha in HILP for the treatment of sarcomas of the extremities by Boehringer Ingelheim), breast cancer and colorectal cancer. He was a Chair of the ESSO Melanoma Course 2013 and 2015 in collaboration with the American Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO)and member of the Editorial Board of the “Annals of Surgical Oncology” Journal (co-chair European section) since 2014.

Stephen Palmer Stephen Palmer is a Professor and Deputy Director of TEEHTA. He has worked in economic evaluation for over 15 years in areas including pharmaceuticals, cardiology, cancer, mental health, diagnostic and screening programmes and policy. He has extensive experience of health economic evaluation, regulatory and reimbursement processes.
Luca Sangiorgi He is Head of Department of Medical Genetics and Coordinator of Rare Disease Centre at Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna, and Contract professor of Clinical Genetics of Bologna University.
