Professor Kostas Syrigos graduated from Athens School of Medicine in 1988. He was trained in Internal Medicine at the Laikon University Hospital (Athens University) and in Medical Oncology at the Hammersmith Hospital (Imperial College of Medicine, Sciences & Art, London University). He got his MD thesis with distinction from the Athens School of Medicine, in 1995 and his PhD thesis from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London University, in 2000. He worked as Medical Oncologist Senior Registrar at the Hammersmith and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals, in London and as consultant at the Sotiria General Hospital, in Athens. In 2002 he was appointed Assc. Professor of Oncology in Medicine and Head of the Sotiria Oncology Unit. From 2006 he is also Visiting Professor of Thoracic Oncology at Yale University and from 2012 he is also Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Pittsburgh School of Medicine, USA. His main fields of interest are Targeted Therapies, drugs development as well as Thoracic and Head & Neck oncology. Recently (2014) he was appointed Head of the 3rd Department of Medicine, Athens School of Medicine at “Sotiria” General Hospital.

Dr Syrigos participated in several international clinical trials Phase I-IV in lung, colon, head & neck and pancreatic cancer. He is a member of numerous scientific societies, including the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR), the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). He is co-editor of the Oncology Research journal, on the editorial board of 21 scientific journals and reviewer for 90 scientific journals. He is the editor of 14 International Scientific Volumes. He is the author of 430 peer-reviewed, international articles, with more than 6.000 citations. He is currently sitting as member of the ESMO Translational Research Group, as member of the IASLC Education Committee and as ESMO faculty member for the Lung and other Thoracic Tumours faculty group.

Panos Kanavos Panos Kanavos (BSc, MSc (Oxon), MSc (LSE), PhD) is Associate Professor in International Health Policy in the Department of Social Policy, London School of Economics (LSE), Deputy Director at LSE Health, and Programme Director of the Medical Technology Research Group (MTRG) at LSE Health.
Annalisa Trama Dr. Annalisa Trama graduated cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome "La Sapienza"(1993-1999). She obtained her Master’s in health services/system research from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2001-2002), she specialized in Public Health from University “La Sapienza”– Rome (1999-2003). She obtained her PhD in Public Health from University “La Sapienza”– Rome (2004-2006).
